Canada East Wins Opening Game At WJAC |

 Canada East opened the 2008 World Junior A Challenge in Camrose, Alta with a 6-3 victory over Team Germany. With the win, Canada now leads Group B with a 1-0 record. Canada East outshot the German squad 35-19 and held period leads of 3-1 after the first period and 4-1 after the second. Brandon Pirri (Streetsville Derby, OJHL) led Canada East with 2 goals and 1 assist. Andrew Hare (Burlington Cougars, OJHL) stopped 16 of 19 shots for the win. The Amherst Ramblers' Jordan Escott and the Truro Bearcats' Stephen Horyl did not register a point in this game. Canada East will take on Team USA on Wednesday at 8pm MST or 11pm AST.
