One of the awards the MHL hands out at the end of the year is for best team goaltending. It is hard to track this during the year since the goalie stats tables are organized by individual rather than team. Here is an end of October report on how that race stands. The award actually goes to the best pair of net-minders, but many teams end up playing more than two goalies in a year, so the award is based on the pair that has most of the team’s playing time. Here are two tables. Table 1 gives the results for all the goaltenders that have played for a team.

Results through November 6
The second table has the results for each team for the two goalies with the most time. For the 8 teams that have played only two goalies the results are the same. There is no difference at the top of the table (the top 6 teams had played only 2 goalies anyway).

Results through November 6
Matt Murphy and Sam Renault are the two Woodstock goalies at the head of the table; Murphy leads the league as an individual goalie. The Yarmouth pair of Charles Grant and Chase Gaudet are second and Kody Blois and Richard Tingley of the Amherst Ramblers. These three are the only pairs with combined GAAs under 3.00.
