ST. STEPHEN – The St. Stephen Aces will not renew the contract of Head Coach and General Manager Phil Richer for the 2018-2019 Maritime Hockey League season.
“Our organization is committed to developing a successful team in St. Stephen and we feel that in order to do that we need to move in another direction regarding our leadership,” said Vice-President of Hockey Operations Chris Horne. “Phil worked very hard for the St. Stephen Aces. We wish him the best.”
Richer was originally hired as an assistant coach and assistant general manager for the Aces for the 2017-2018 season. He was promoted when then head coach/GM Josh Hepditch left the team to take a coaching position in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
