We really felt like we should have won the first game [against Longueuil] because when you keep a team to 12 shots you should win that hockey game. Defensively we were good, we missed some opportunities and maybe there was a bit of rust after having 15 days off, which showed in the goal-scoring department. The message was ‘Let’s respond, show who we are and get back to Bomber hockey’ and I thought we had a great start. It’s not much of a secret, if you get pucks on net and bodies to the net, good things are going to happen, and I thought our first period was more indicative of who we are as a team.”

“The message today was ‘Don’t quit in the dip.’ We were in a little bit of a dip; it’s the first bit of adversity we’ve faced all year, unfortunately it was in this tournament but it is what it is, but don’t quit. We had a great game today, but it’s all about the next game. Adversity is a great thing, and you look at any good team that’s won a big tournament they usually have some sort of adversity through it, it’s not smooth sailing. We needed this and hopefully we’re on the other side of it.”

“We were really tight defensively. We respected the plan our coaches had and they did a great job scouting Toronto, which helped us a lot tonight. They are a really good offensive team, but our defence was able to counter that. I thought it was a good game for me as well. I just tried to keep focused and that’s my plan for the whole tournament. Facing a lot of shots keeps me in the game and helps me out.”

« Nous avons tenté de passer le message que nous avions joué un bon match et un mauvais match, et que nous n’étions pas là où nous voulions dans le tournoi. Nous pensons vraiment que nous aurions dû gagner le premier duel [contre Longueuil], parce que lorsque vous limitez un adversaire à 12 tirs, vous devriez l’emporter. J’ai trouvé que notre première période a été un bon exemple de la véritable identité de notre club. »

Nous avons eu un fort match aujourd’hui, mais il faut se concentrer sur le prochain maintenant. L’adversité est une bonne chose et n’importe quelle bonne équipe qui gagne un grand tournoi compose avec de l’adversité à un certain point. Ce n’est pas un long fleuve tranquille. Nous avions besoin de cette victoire, et j’espère que nous serons sur une lancée. »

« Nous avons été vraiment solides défensivement. Nous avons respecté le plan de nos entraîneurs et ils ont fait un excellent travail d’avant-match pour nous préparer à affronter Toronto. Ça nous a vraiment aidés ce soir. Toronto a vraiment une bonne attaque, mais notre défensive a réussi à y faire face. J’ai trouvé que j’ai bien joué. J’ai simplement essayé de rester concentré sur ce que je dois faire, et c’est mon plan pour tout le tournoi. Affronter beaucoup de tirs me permet de rester dans le match. »
