Curson, Aucoin each score twice as Truro beat Edmundston in Game 3

The Truro Bearcats picked up a 5-2 win in Edmundston on Friday night to take a 2-1 lead over the Blizzard in the Metalfab MHL Cup Final.

The home side struck first early in the 1st period as Charles-Éric Tremblay scored his fourth goal of the playoffs to make it 1-0 for Edmundston. Nathan Curson gave Truro the lead before the end of the period, with goals at 9:29 and 16:58. The 2nd period saw Noah Larochelle score the lone goal to pull the Blizzard even 2-2 heading to the 3rd.

In the final frame, Callum Aucoin scored at 1:11 to put the Bearcats on top and then added a powerplay goal at 7:58, his tenth goal of the playoffs, to make it a 4-2 lead for Truro. Jake Todd added an empty net goal with seven seconds remaining to seal the victory.

Louca Connolly made 28 saves for Truro in the win. Cedric Massé, who missed the first two games of the series, was in goal for Edmundston and made 26 saves in the loss. Game 4 is Saturday night in Edmundston.
