Blizzard’s Arsenault commits to Université de Moncton

The Université de Moncton has announced that Edmundston Blizzard forward Alex Arsenault will join the Aigles Bleus program for the 2023-24 season.

The 20-year-old from Saint-Charles, N.B. was a territorial draft selection of the Blizzard in the 2018 MHL Entry Draft, selected 60th overall.

In his rookie season of 2019-20, Arsenault finished sixth in rookie scoring with eighteen goals and seventeen assists in playing all 52 regular season games. His three game-winning goals that season were tied with two others for the most among MHL rookies. He was selected to the Rookie All-Star Team at left wing.

After two seasons in the QMJHL between Baie-Comeau and Rouyn-Noranda, Arsenault returned to the Blizzard for the 2022-23 season. He finished the regular season fifth in league scoring with 26 goals and 55 assists in 52 games. He was selected to the Eastlink North’s All-Star team and was named to the division’s Team of the Week five times.

In the Metalfab MHL Cup Playoffs, Arsenault had seven goals and eleven assists in fourteen games to tie for the second-most points in the post-season as Edmundston advanced to the league final before falling to Yarmouth.

The MHL congratulates Arsenault on his post-secondary commitment.
