Brogan Bailey Named Head Coach of South Shore Lumberjacks

June 29th, 2020 – Bridgewater, Nova Scotia – Lumberjacks GM, Brad Muise announced today that Lunenburg native, Brogan Bailey has been hired as the new Head Coach of the South Shore Lumberjacks Junior A Hockey Club.  Last season, Brogan led the South Shore Mustangs U18 team to first place finish and was named Nova Scotia U18 Coach of the Year for 2019-2020.  Brad Muise commented, “Brogan has a great skill set in the areas of teaching, communication along with team and player preparation.  He’s creative with his approaches off and on the ice to get the best possible results.  He’s shown at every level of coaching that he is professional and successful at all his activities.  Not to mention, he has an extensive playing background in Junior and University hockey, where his experiences as a former captain of MHL championship team with Woodstock Slammers (now Grand Falls) will bring value to our organization.”

Prior to being Head Coach at U18 where he led the Mustangs to Hockey Nova Scotia Male Team of the Year, Brogan was an assistant coach with the Lumberjacks from 2015 to 2018 gaining valuable experience in the Maritime Hockey League.  As a player at U-Sports level, he was assistant captain at Nipissing University in North Bay Ontario, achieving CIS Academic All-Canadian status on route to a Degree in Bachelor of Physical and Health Education from Nipissing University in 2014 followed by MSc Kinesiology at Dalhousie University, Research area – Performance Psychology in 2018.

 Later this week, Brogan will announce his coaching staff for the 2020-2021 season.
