Series Notes
- The Summerside Western Capitals won their division for the first time since 2015-16.
- The St. Stephen Aces have qualified for the playoffs for the second time in the franchise’s young history. Their first appearance in the postseason was in 2016-17, where the Aces lost in four straight games to the eventual league finalist Miramichi Timberwolves.
- For all of their struggles on the road, the Aces had a winning record at the Garcelon Civic Centre at 14-9-2-0 which translated to the 6th most points earned at home (30) and a +6 goal differential. The problem? Summerside lost just three road games all season.
- Summerside allowed just 120 goals this season, with a jaw-dropping +127 goal differential; the largest wince the Woodstock Slammers were +144 in 2011-12.
- As dangerous as Summerside have been offensively, their powerplay is even more impressive on the road. The Western Capitals have a 33.6 powerplay percentage away from Credit Union Place. The Aces, for their part, are better on the powerplay at home, with a 23.6 conversion percentage.
- Brodie MacArthur ran away with the scoring race, earning Player of the Year honours, with 43 goals and 67 assists.
- The Aces had 10 MHL rookies who played at least 39 games this season.
- Summerside finished the season on a six-game winning streak. St. Stephen alternated wins and losses for their final 13 games, which was enough to push them into the playoffs.
