Chaleur beats Edmundston 4-3 in double overtime win in Game 4
The Chaleur Lightning evened the Eastlink North Division Final at two games apiece after a 4-3 win over Edmundston in Bathurst on Tuesday night.
Cohen McCallum opened the scoring for the home side at 5:23 of the 1st period on the powerplay, but Émile Fournier evened the game at 1 before the end of the period with a goal at 17:36.
Chaleur built a 3-1 lead in the 2nd period with goals from Sam Rocca at 8:51 and Zachary Rushton on the powerplay at 16:24. Eliott Guenette got one back for the Blizzard at 17:44 to send the teams to the 3rd period. Michael Derbidge tied things 3-3 at 4:21, and that goal eventually meant the teams were heading to overtime.
There was no scoring in the first overtime. At 6:34 of double overtime, Owen Arnold threw a puck from the point on goal, which beat Cedric Massé to give Chaleur the 4-3 victory.
Jack Flanagan made 44 saves for the win, while Massé had 45 saves in the loss. Game 5 is back in Edmundston on Thursday.
