Chaleur beat Grand Falls 3-1 and lead Eastlink North Division Semi-Final 3-1
Tyson Snow scored the go-ahead goal at 17:02 of the 3rd period as the Chaleur Lightning beat the Grand Falls Rapids 3-1 at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre on Friday night.
Coming off a win in Game 3 at home, the Rapids were looking to even the series and got on the board first with a goal from Patrick Baxter at 6″09 of the 2nd period. MHL Rookie of the Year Carter Bromley tied the game at 15:17 as the Lightning were finally able to convert on their massive shot advantage in the game.
After again piling up shots on Grand Falls goaltender Adam Lecours, Snow’s goal gave the Lightning the lead, and Ben Cross scored into the empty net at 19:32 to seal the victory.
Jack Flanagan made 17 saves for the win, while Lecours had 43 saves in the loss. Game 5 is back in Grand Falls on Sunday.
