The Grand Falls Rapids have announced that defenseman Vincent Drolet has committed to State University of New York at Cortland, an NCAA Division III school, for the 2021-22 season.
The 20-year-old from Quebec City, Quebec was acquired by the Rapids in June 2020 from the LHJQ’s Côte-du-Sud Everest. In his 92 games with the Everest, Drolet tallied six goals and 25 assists. He played in 22 games with the Rapids in 2020-21, with six goals and nine assists which placed him in a tie for ninth among points for defensemen. His six goals were the third most in the MHL for blueliners. Drolet also accumulated just eight penalty minutes on the season.
