Expression of Interest – Host an MHL Marquee Event in Your Community!

The Maritime Hockey League is inviting Destination Marketing Organizations, Government Leaders, Arena Managers, MHL Franchises, Economic Development Agencies and Hospitality Partners to submit collaborative expressions of interest in hosting one of the League’s marquee events during the 2026–27 season:

    • MHL All-Star Game & Alumni Gala — December 2026 or January 2027
    • MHL Player Draft & Alumni Gala — June 2027

These events bring together players, families, alumni, team representatives, partners, scouts and hockey fans from across the Maritimes. They provide host communities with an opportunity to showcase their arenas, accommodations, hospitality sector, tourism assets, and community spirit.

Hosting an MHL event can deliver meaningful benefits, including:

    • Increased visitation and economic activity during the tourism shoulder season;
    • Hotel stays, restaurant spending, and support for local businesses;
    • Regional media/broadcast exposure and destination promotion;
    • Community engagement through youth hockey, alumni, sponsor, and volunteer activities; and
    • Opportunities to strengthen partnerships between municipalities, tourism organizations, arenas, MHL franchises, and the local business community.

The League welcomes collaborative submissions involving multiple community partners. Expressions of interest should outline the proposed host location, available facilities, local organizing capacity, potential financial or in-kind support, accommodation options, and ideas for authentic community programming.

Interested communities and organizations are asked to submit their expression of interest by Friday, September 4, 2026 to commissioner@themhl.ca.

Following the deadline, submissions will be reviewed by the MHL Management Committee, with recommendations presented as part of the League’s event-hosting selection process.

We look forward to working with communities across the Maritimes to create memorable events that celebrate our players, alumni, fans, and the positive social and economic impact of Maritime hockey.
