The Summerside Western Capitals have announced that former defenseman Jacob Arsenault has committed to Briercrest College for the 2021-22 season.
The 22-year-old from Richmond, P.E.I. played 71 games with Summerside over two seasons after a year and a half in the QMJHL with Moncton, Sherbrooke, and Charlottetown. In 2018-19, Arsenault had two goals and six assists in 22 games for the Western Capitals. He added five assists in ten playoff games.
In 2019-20, Arsenault racked up seven goals and 33 assists in 49 games, finishing sixth in league scoring among defensemen. His 33 assists were the fourth-most for a blueliner. Arsenault also had 177 penalty minutes, which was the most for a defenseman in the MHL, and third-most overall.
The MHL congratulates Arsenault on his post-secondary commitment.
