Former Western Capitals’ forward Andrews commits to SMU

The Saint Mary’s Huskies have announced that former Western Capitals forward Dylan Andrews has committed to their program for the upcoming season.

Andrews, from Lawrencetown, N.S., was drafted in the 7th round, 103rd overall, by the Edmundston Blizzard in the 2021 MHL Entry Draft. He spent four seasons in the QMJHL with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan with 34 goals and 54 assists in 206 games.

His MHL rights were acquired by West Kent before the start of the 2024-25 season. Andrews played nineteen games with the Steamers, where he had fourteen goals and eleven assists. He also played eight games with the Cape Breton Eagles from late October to early November, notching three goals and three assists. Andrews was again on the move as the calendar flipped to January, as he was traded to Summerside. In seventeen games with the Western Capitals, Andrews had thirteen goals and eleven assists, as well as five assists in four games during the Metalfab MHL Cup Playoffs. He was named to the Eastlink North Team of the Week once and the Eastlink South Team of the Week twice during the season.
