The South Shore Lumberjacks have announced that defenseman Scott Gaetz has committed to Dalhousie University for 2020-21.
The 20-year-old from Oakville, Ontario was acquired by the St. Stephen Aces in October 2017 from the Milton Ice Hawks of the OJHL. In 32 games in St. Stephen, Gaetz has two goals and four assists. He was traded back to the OJHL in the off-season, joining the Toronto Jr. Canadiens for 2018-19.
The Lumberjacks brought Gaetz back to the league in July 2019 in a trade with Toronto. In 51 games this past season, he had two goals and 13 assists for South Shore.
“Scott has a positive attitude and is a fiercely competitive person,” says Dalhousie Tigers men’s hockey head coach Chris Donnelly. “He is a very good skater and his mobility allows him to play a sound defensive game. Scott moves the puck intelligently under pressure which is a characteristic of the defencemen in our program.”
The Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) congratulates Gaetz on his Junior A career and post-secondary commitment.
