Kevin Mitchell added as MHL Director of Hockey Operations

Truro, N.S. (April 15, 2023) – The Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) is pleased to announce the addition of Kevin Mitchell as the Director of Hockey Operations. In this role, Mitchell will help with the day-to-day operations of the league and aid teams with issues they may face during the season.

Mitchell has 40 years of experience as an administrator in hockey, including as a President and General Manager at the minor hockey level, Technical Director/Development Chair with Hockey Nova Scotia, and has been General Manager/Assistant General Manager with the MHL’s Campbellton Tigers, Amherst Ramblers, and South Shore Lumberjacks.

He has been a hockey scout for 18 years,  including Hockey Canada’s U17 program, the Moncton Wildcats, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, and MHL teams. Mitchell also has more than 45 years as a coach at various levels including Team Atlantic U17 Program teams, Nova Scotia Canada Winter Games Hockey teams, Nova Scotia Major Midget, Nova Scotia Major Bantam, and Nova Scotia’s High Performance Program.

“Kevin brings experience in and out of hockey that will benefit the MHL greatly,” says league President Troy Dumville. “We are fortunate to be able to add him to our staff.”

Mitchell has been serving in the role for several weeks and will continue to apply his expertise to the benefit of the MHL and its twelve clubs.
