The Summerside Western Capitals have announced that forward Colby MacArthur has committed to Union College, an NCAA Division 1 school, for the 2022-23 season.
The 20-year-old from Summerside, P.E.I. was a Territorial Draft Selection by the Western Capitals in the 2018 MHL Entry Draft. He played eleven games in the MHL in 2018-19 regular season, registering two assists, and played twice during the Canadian Tire Cup Playoffs that season.
MacArthur played 47 games in 2019-20 with fourteen goals and 30 assists in 47 games. He played in all 23 of Summerside’s games in 2020-21 with seven goals and thirteen assists. MacArthur also had five assists in five games during the Canadian Tire Cup Playoff Round-Robin.
He’s played in 26 games so far in 2021-22, with thirteen goals and 31 assists and sat second in league scoring to teammate Josh MacDonald and the MHL’s Christmas Break.
