MacArthur named Honourable Mention in CJHL Gongshow October Three Stars

CJHL announces its Gongshow Gear 3 Stars for October
Petruic, (Yorkton-SJHL); Lamothe (Collège Français-LHJAAAQ); Johnson (Trail-BCHL) earn monthly laurels

CALGARY, Alta. – The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced Wednesday that forwards Chantz Petruic (Yorkton Terriers, SJHL), Tristan Lamothe (Collège Français de Longueuil, LHJAAAQ) and Ken Johnson (Trail Smoke Eaters, BCHL) have been named its Gongshow Gear 3 Stars of the Month for October.

1ST STAR: CHANTZ PETRUIC, (F) YORKTON TERRIERS (SJHL) – Suiting up on 11 occasions last month, the 20-year-old Moose Jaw, Sask., native etched his name on the scoresheet in each game, while scoring 13 times and dishing out a dozen assists for a 25-point run during the time frame. … The Terriers captain had at least one point in every match-up in October and produced eight multi-point affairs for Yorkton. … Despite recently having an impressive 23-game point streak dashed, Petruic has only been held pointless twice in his first 26 SJHL contests so far in 2019-20. … His efforts see him lead his league in goals (28) and points (54).

2ND STAR: TRISTAN LAMOTHE, (F) COLLÈGE FRANÇAIS DE LONGUEUIL (LHJAAAQ) – In just eight outings, Lamothe racked up a whopping 25 points for Collège Français de Longueuil by tallying 14 times and doling out 11 assists while boasting a plus-15 ratio during the month. …. The Sherbrooke, Que., product was earlier named LHJAAAQ Player of the Month for his on-ice efforts. … Through his first 19 games of the season, the 20-year-old Lamothe led his league in offensive production with 52 points, including 24 goals.

3RD STAR: KEN JOHNSON, (F) TRAIL SMOKE EATERS (BCHL) – In 11 games in October, Johnson scored 11 times and added another 15 assists for 26 points, leading Trail to a 9-0-2 record in the month. … Hailing from Port Moody, B.C. had points in 10 of 11 games, including a five-point affair on Oct. 26. … His efforts saw him tabbed BCHL Player of the Month. … Johnson enters action this week pacing the BCHL in offensive production with 50 points in 28 games on 20 tallies and 30 assists.
