MacKinnon commits to Dalhousie University

The Miramichi Timberwolves have announced that forward Evan MacKinnon has committed to Dalhousie University for the 2021-22 season.

The 21-year-old from Sackville, N.S. was originally drafted by the Truro Bearcats in the 5th Round, 82nd overall, in the 2017 MHL Entry Draft. However, he played in the QMJHL from the 2016-17 season until joining the Timberwolves late in the 2020-21 season.

Playing with four teams in the QMJHL, MacKinnon had 35 goals and 63 assists in 246 games. His rights were dealt as part of a trade package to Miramichi in a 2019-20 deadline deal that sent Jason Imbeault to the Bearcats.

In thirteen games with the Timberwolves, MacKinnon had two goals and eleven assists. He maintained that point per game pace in the Canadian Tire Cup Eastlink North Playoff Round-Robin with one goal and three assists in four games.

The MHL congratulates MacKinnon on his post-secondary commitment.
