The Acadia Axemen have announced that Yarmouth Mariners goaltender Keegan Warren has committed to their program for the 2026-27 season.
The 20-year-old from Conception Bay South, NL joined the Mariners for the 2022-23 season, appearing in 23 games. He posted a record of 19-3-1-0 with a league-best 2.19 goals against average and a .912 save percentage, which ranked third-best in the MHL. His two shutouts were tied with four other goaltenders for the most in the league, while his win total was third-best. His incredible season earned him a spot on the Rookie All-Star Team, and he shared the Young/Knickle Award for best goaltending duo with Joey Lovullo. Warren was named the league’s Top Goaltender in January 2023 and an honourable mention for Top Rookie in both November 2022 and January. He was named to the Eastlink South Team of the Week three times.
He played just two games in the Metalfab MHL Cup Playoffs, winning against Pictou County and Truro, to help Yarmouth win its first championship since 2019. Warren played three games of Yarmouth’s five games at the Centennial Cup in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, going 1-2-0 with a 3.67 goals against average and an .895 save percentage as the Mariners lost 2-1 to the host team in the quarterfinals.
Warren played just two games with Yarmouth in 2023-24, being named to the Eastlink South Team of the Week in the first week of the season, before joining the QMJHL’s Moncton Wildcats. He rejoined the Mariners after the 2024-25 trade deadline, finishing the regular season with a 7-9-0-0 record in sixteen games with a 4.24 goals against average and a .900 save percentage.
In 2025-26, Warren played in 43 of Yarmouth’s 52 games, leading the league in minutes played and saves made (1,357). He had a 15-19-4-2 record with a 3.76 goals against average and an .897 save percentage. Warren was named the league’s Top Goaltender in December 2025 and was named to the Eastlink South Team of the Week four times.
