Notes

    • This is the third time these teams have met in the playoffs since the Blizzard moved from Dieppe and a rematch of last season’s Eastlink North Division Final, where Miramichi swept Edmundston in four games on their way to beating Summerside for the franchise’s first-ever MHL championship. Edmundston beat Miramichi in six games in the 2022-23 divisional semi-final and swept the Timberwolves in the semi-final in 2017-18 on their way to the league title.
    • Edmundston finished the season atop the CJHL’s Top 20 Rankings and was only ranked out of the top five in the nation for two weeks.
    • The Blizzard had six players with at least 50 points this season, while Miramichi had just two: Justin David (76) and Jacob Lafontaine (59).
    • Edmundston’s defensemen play a key role in the team’s success, combining for 167 points this season. Miramichi’s blueliners had 102 points, with 47 coming from Caleb Van de Ven.
    • Miramichi will look to jump on Edmundston early as the Blizzard are 27-1-0-0 when leading after one period and 34-1-0-0 when leading after two periods.
    • The Timberwolves were the fourth-most penalized team in the league with 1,196 penalty minutes, compared to just 872 for Edmundston, which was third-fewest. Head-to-head, Miramichi’s powerplay went 6 for 29 (20.7%) against Edmundston, while the Blizzard were 8 for 41 (19.5%) against the Timberwolves.
    • Miramichi was one of three teams to use only two goaltenders this season. Jack Flanagan played the second-most minutes in the league with 2,102 in 38 games, finishing tied for third in save percentage at .925 with Summerside’s George Gallant, and fourth in goals against average at 2.97. Edmundston, on the other hand, used seven goaltenders before acquiring Austin Caley and Frédéric Cousineau from Truro over the course of the season. Caley’s 1.98 goals against average and .930 save percentage were the best in the MHL over his 22 games played.
