Notes

    • This is the first playoff meeting between these teams as West Kent moved from Bridgewater, N.S. before the start of last season. The Steamers made the playoffs last season, losing to Miramichi in the first round, while Campbellton are returning to the Metalfab MHL Cup Playoffs after a one-year absence.
    • The Tigers and Steamers combined for nearly eight goals per game in their eight regular season matchups, with three being decided in overtime and one in a shootout. However, they’ve played just once since the trade deadline. Campbellton added key pieces in defensemen Alexis Jacques and Lucas Boisvert before January 10th, while the Steamers acquired forwards Jerome Nadeau, Spencer Caines, and Lucas Byrne, as well as defenseman Jake Beardsmore.
    • Fourteen of Tyler Pazin’s 51 points this season came against the Steamers. He tallied two hat tricks in the seven games versus West Kent. Meanwhile, ten of Mathis Tarani’s 40 points this season came against Campbellton.
    • Head-to-head, West Kent’s powerplay went 7 for 31 (22.6%) against the Tigers, compared to Campbellton going 5 for 30 (16.7%) against the Steamers.
    • Campbellton goaltender Adam Rouleau had a 3-2-1-0 record against West Kent this season with a 4.37 goals against average and a .914 save percentage. He faced at least 36 shots in five of those games, including 49 in a loss on September 29th. On the other side, Oliver Dallaire was the workhorse for West Kent, logging the fourth-most minutes in the MHL with 2,049. He only started four games against the Tigers with a 2-2-0-0 record, a 3.99 goals against average, and an .884 save percentage. Dallaire hasn’t seen any game action against Campbellton since November 3rd.
