Truro, N.S. (March 30, 2022) – The Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) is pleased to announce that Mavrick Goyer of the Truro Bearcats is the 2021-22 Goaltender of the Year.
Goyer landed in Truro as part of a trade with Summerside that sent Felix-Anthony Ethier to the Western Capitals. The 19-year-old from Sainte-Sophie, Quebec finished the 2021-22 season with a record of 15-3-1-0, which was the second-highest win total behind Fredericton’s Mathias Savoie.
Goyer had the league’s lowest goals against average at 2.07, best save percentage at .932, and most shutouts with five; three of which came after the trade to Truro.
He was named the Gongshow Top Goaltender in October and February, and was an Honourable Mention in March. Goyer was also named a Player of the Week four times.

La LHM choisit Mavrick Goyer comme gardien de l’année 2021-2022
Truro, N.-É. (30 mars 2022) – La Ligue de hockey junior des Maritimes (LHM) est heureuse d’annoncer que Mavrick Goyer, des Bearcats de Truro, est le gardien de but de l’année 2021-2022.
Goyer est arrivé à Truro dans le cadre d’un échange avec Summerside qui a envoyé Félix-Anthony Éthier aux Western Capitals. Le joueur de 19 ans de Sainte-Sophie, au Québec, a terminé la saison 2021-2022 avec une fiche de 15-3-1-0, qui était le deuxième plus haut total de victoires derrière Mathias Savoie, de Fredericton.
Goyer a cumulé la plus faible moyenne de buts alloués de la ligue à 2,07, le meilleur pourcentage d’arrêts à ,932 et le plus de blanchissages avec cinq dont trois sont venus après son échange à Truro.
Il a été nommé meilleur gardien de but Gongshow en octobre et février et a reçu une mention honorable en mars. Goyer a également été nommé joueur de la semaine à quatre reprises.
