The Amherst Ramblers are proud to announce that forward Thomas Gagnon has officially committed to the Université de Sherbrooke for the 2026-27 season. The 20-year-old Plessisville, Quebec native will join the Vert & Or program following a stellar campaign in the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL).

Gagnon, a versatile and high-skill center, became a cornerstone of the Ramblers’ offense during the 2025-26 season. Known for his 200-foot game and exceptional poise, Gagnon suited up for 51 regular-season games, recording 19 goals and 7 assists for 26 points. His impact, however, extended far beyond the scoresheet; he led the team with four game-winning goals and was a primary fixture on both special teams units.

Prior to his time in the MHL, Gagnon spent parts of two seasons in the QMJHL, notably with the Victoriaville Tigres. He brought that major junior discipline to Amherst, where he quickly became a fan favourite for his relentless work ethic and playmaking creativity.

The commitment marks a homecoming of sorts for Gagnon, who returns to his home province of Quebec to compete at the U SPORTS level. The Université de Sherbrooke Vert & Or are gaining a smart, disciplined playmaker who has proven he can elevate the play of those around him.

The entire Amherst Ramblers organization would like to thank Thomas for his dedication to the team and the community, and we wish him the very best of luck in his future academic and athletic endeavours.
