FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
AMHERST, N.S. – April 21, 2026 – The Amherst Ramblers Junior A Hockey Club is thrilled to announce that forward Anthony Gaudet has committed to the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (AUS) for the 2026-27 season.
Gaudet, the reigning 2025-26 MHL Player of the Year, recently completed one of the most decorated regular seasons in Ramblers history. The 19-year-old native of St-Ignace, N.B., captured the league scoring title with a staggering 89 points in 51 games. His 64 assists not only led the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) but also set a new Amherst franchise record, surpassing the long-standing mark previously shared by Andrew Sweetland and John Lake.
Gaudet shared a message for Ramblers supporters as he prepares for the next chapter of his hockey career.
“To the Amherst fans: Thank you for the cheers, the memories, and the unwavering support throughout my time with the Ramblers. I’ll always remember my time in Amherst fondly.”
Gaudet’s 2025-26 campaign was highlighted by remarkable consistency, including:
-
A 25-game point streak (the longest in the MHL this season).
-
A league-leading 6 shorthanded goals, proving his value in all situations.
-
Two MHL Forward of the Month honours (December and January) and a CJHL 2nd Star of the Month selection.
By joining the Aigles Bleus, Gaudet joins a program that recently finished as Atlantic University Sport (AUS) finalists and competed in the 2026 U SPORTS National Championship in Halifax. He will join teammate Cooper Cormier, who also recently committed to the Moncton program.
The Ramblers organization extends its deepest thanks to Anthony for his record-breaking contributions to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his collegiate career.
