CJHL announces its 3 Stars of the Month for December – Fuelled by Gatorade

TORONTO – The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced Thursday that goaltender Keegan Carswell (Kemptville 73’s/CCHL) as well as forwards Anthony Gaudet (Amherst Ramblers/MHL) and Drayden Uhrina (Portage Terriers/MJHL) have been named its 3 Stars of the Month – Fuelled by Gatorade, for December.

1st Star: Keegan Carswell, (G) Kemptville 73’s (CCHL) –
The 18-year-old Windsor, Ont., product was nearly unbeatable in the time frame with Kemptville, allowing only one puck to get past him in four starts, while posting three shutouts.

In all, Carswell went 4-0 for the 73’s in registering a stellar 0.25 goals-against average, along with a stingy .989 save percentage, while recording his trio of shutouts to wrap-up December by handling 94 of the 95 shots fired his way. Also of note, surging Kemptville has posted five shutouts in their past six contests.

Personally, riding a five-game winning streak, Carswell has not allowed a goal-against in his past 182 minutes and 52 seconds of game action, last giving up a tally back on Dec. 7, in a 4-1 road victory at the Navan Grads. He also tops all CJHL netminders in average at 1.82 and is third with his .929 save mark.

2nd Star: Anthony Gaudet, (F) Amherst Ramblers (MHL) – Gaudet averaged two points-per-game last month for the Ramblers, etching his name on the game sheet in each of his six contests played.

Hailing from St-Ignace, N.B., 19-year-old centre racked up 12 points in those half-dozen outings in December, by notching five goals and dishing out seven assists for Amherst last month. Impressively, four of his five tallies came shorthanded to give him the league-lead in that department.

Currently riding a 17-game point streak, Gaudet has moved into top spot in the MHL scoring race having accumulated 53 points in 32 matchups on 14 markers and 39 helpers.

3rd Star: Drayden Uhrina, (F) Portage Terriers (MJHL) – A stellar month for the 16-year-old from Winnipeg, Uhrina amassed 12 points in six games for the Terriers, helping them cap off 2025 on an overall run of 15-2-0-0 since Oct. 30.

On a two point-per-game clip, he led all MJHL skaters in offensive production as one of the youngest players in the entire league. The skilled forward supplied four multi-point outings, including a five-point effort on Dec. 3 at Neepawa.

Uhrina currently sits third in MJHL rookie scoring with 35 points in 30 contests on 10 goals and 25 assists. Portage has also gone 17-1-1-0 in the 19 games in which he has collected at least one point.
