Ramblers Sign Doull, LeBlanc to extensions

Amherst, NS – The Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers announced today that the team has signed General Manager Jeff LeBlanc, and Head Coach Doug Doull to contract extensions through the 2022-23 season.

Doull, a 45 year-old native of Glace Bay, NS, guided Amherst to a 30-21-1 record last season good for second place in the division before the playoffs were cancelled due to Covid-19. Doug’s entering his ninth year in the MHL winning Championships in two of those seasons.

“For me this was a natural decision and one that works for my family. I’ve stated this before, but development of young men both on and off the ice is my passion. We came a long way as a team last year and I feel we are ready to take a bigger leap this upcoming season.” Doull said

Ramblers President Gary Brown is happy to be keeping two quality hockey individuals for the long term.

“We are very happy to have both Jeff and Doug in our organization for the long term. The experience both bring will keep pushing this program to be one of the top in the country” said Brown.

LeBlanc, a 40 year-old native of Moncton, NB, is entering his sixth season as the Ramblers GM and eleventh in the MHL missing the playoffs only once during that time.

“I am very proud of the steps we have taken as an organization while I have been here and look forward to continuing to add to that. This organization is one of the best in the country and I am extremely excited to continue this journey with Doug and our staff.” LeBlanc said

Last season’s assistants Jeff Walsh, Mathieu Martin, and Joel Gauthier are all scheduled to return for the 2020-21 season.
