It’s Semifinal Saturday at the World Junior A Challenge in Dawson Creek, B.C.
Summerside’s Colby MacArthur and Zach Biggar, Campbellton Head Coach/General Manager Greg Leland, Valley Trainer Mark Francisco, and the rest of Canada East dropped their last two games to finish in fourth place. After an overtime loss to Russia and a win against Canada West, the East squad dropped a 7-3 decision to the United States on Wednesday. They finished the preliminary round with a 6-4 loss to the Czech Republic. MacArthur registered an assist in that game.
The semifinals have Canada East against the United States at 5 p.m. Atlantic Time. The U.S. finished atop the standings with three regulation wins and an overtime victory. The other semifinal has the Czech Republic against Russia. at 10 p.m. Atlantic Time. Canada West was eliminated from the tournament after a loss to the Czech Republic on Thursday.
