CJHL announces its Gongshow Gear 3 Stars for February
Isaac Labelle, (Waywayseecappo-MJHL); Marc-Èric Bourque (Princeville-LHJAAAQ); Colton Trumbla (St. Michael’s-OJHL) earn monthly honours

CALGARY, Alta. – The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced Thursday that goaltender Isaac Labelle (Waywayseecappo Wolverines, MJHL) along with defenceman Marc-Èric Bourque (Titan de Princeville) and forward Colton Trumbla (St. Michael’s Buzzers, OJHL) have been named its Gongshow Gear 3 Stars of the Month for February.

1ST STAR: ISAAC LABELLE, (G) WAYWAYSEECAPPO WOLVERINES (MJHL) – The busiest of all MJHL netminders this season with nearly 2,900 minutes played, Labelle was instrumental in the Wolverines posting a 41-point improvement in 2018-19 over the 2017-18 campaign and helped Waywayseecappo secure a playoff berth in Manitoba. … The MJHL’s Goaltender of the Month for February registered eight wins, including a pair of shutouts, for the month while recording a solid 1.90 goals-against average along with a stingy .945 save percentage. … LaBelle’s outstanding season is even more inspiring when you consider his brother, Xavier, was a member of the Humboldt Broncos and was one of those team members who survived the horrific events on April 6 of last year.

2ND STAR: MARC-ÈRIC BOURQUE, (D) TITAN DE PRINCEVILLE (LHJAAAQ) – In nine outings last month, the 20-year-old defenceman, who hails from Chandler, Que., scored six times and doled out 14 assists for a total of 20 points and also boasted a plus-9 rating. … Bourque paced all LHJAAAQ blueliners in offensive production during the course of the regular season. … On the campaign he accumulated 13 goals and dished out 76 assists for 89 points. … His totals saw him finish sixth overall in league scoring.

3RD STAR: COLTON TRUMBLA, (F) ST. MICHAEL’S BUZZERS (OJHL) – During the time frame, Trumbla produced at well over a point-per-game clip for St. Michael’s as the veteran forward contributed an OJHL-best 10 tallies and chipped in with four assists in February for the Buzzers. This included a pair of game-winning markers for St. Michael’s. … Despite missing 20 contests earlier in the season with a broken wrist, the 20-year-old Toronto product still went on to lead all OJHL skaters in goals with 34.
