Summerside completes the series comeback with a 1-0 win in Game 7

The Summerside Western Capitals were down 3-2 in the Eastlink South Division Semi-Final, but won two straight games to take the series, including a 1-0 win over Amherst in Game 7 on home ice at Credit Union Place on Saturday.

Shots were just 10-6 in favour of Summerside in the 1st period, and there was no scoring as Brandon Lavoie for Amherst and Kolten Bourret stopped everything they faced. In the 2nd period, Eliott Robert scored his first goal of the series at 14:47 to give Summerside the lead. Shots were 11-9 for the Western Capitals in the period.

With their season on the line, the Ramblers outshot Summerside 10-5 in the 3rd period and the Western Capitals survived a late push to pick up the victory. Every game in the series except Game 6 was decided by two or fewer goals.

Summerside will now face Truro in the Eastlink South Division Final. The schedule will be announced when available.
