CJHL names its Gongshow Gear 3 Stars for October
Bandits’ McAllister, Blues’ Green, Golden Hawks’ Bancroft garner October accolades

CALGARY, Alta. – The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced Wednesday that the trio of forward Ryan McAllister (Brooks Bandits/AJHL), goaltender Dawson Green (Winnipeg Blues/MJHL) and forward Dalton Bancroft (Trenton Golden Hawks/OJHL) have been named its Gongshow Gear 3 Stars of the Month for October.

1ST STAR: RYAN MCALLISTER, (F) BROOKS BANDITS (AJHL) – The 19-year-old London, Ont., product had a tremendous October for the red-hot Bandits as he racked up 27 points in just 12 outings, which were all victories for Brooks.

Earlier tabbed the AJHL’s Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Player of the Month for October 2021, McAlister has only been held off the game sheet twice so far this season

He currently leads all AJHL skaters in offensive production with 42 points in 19 contests and paces his league in point-per-game average at 2.2.

McAllister is committed to Western Michigan University (NCHC) on NCAA Division I scholarship.

2ND STAR: DAWSON GREEN, (G) WINNIPEG BLUES (MJHL) – The MJHL’s Farmery Brewery top netminder honouree last month did it all for the Blues, including scoring a goal.

In eight starts, Green went 7-1-0-0 and sported a solid 1.62 goals-against average along with a stingy .940 save percentage and posted one shutout.

The same game he blanked the Selkirk Steelers 3-0 at home back on Oct. 16, he notched the night’s final tally as he corralled the puck behind his own net then proceeded to launch it high and down the length of the ice into an empty net with 16 seconds remaining to notch the first goal by an MJHL goalkeeper since 2013.

A 20-year-old from Brandon, Man., Green, who recently had an opportunity to fill in as a practice goaltender for the AHL’s Manitoba Moose, leads all MJHL netminders in wins (11), average (1.78) and save percentage (.936).

3RD STAR: DALTON BANCROFT, (F) TRENTON GOLDEN HAWKS (OJHL) – Averaging two points-per-game during the time frame, Bancroft piled up 26 in 13 match-ups for Trenton.

The 20-year-old right-winger found the back of the net eight times, including a pair of game-winners, and helped set up 18 others to pace all OJHL skaters in October numbers.

Residing in the Madoc, Ont., area, Bancroft enters play this week holding down the second spot in overall OJHL scoring with 28 points in 15 games.

Is an NCAA Division-I commitment to the Cornell University Big Red (ECAC) in Ithaca, N.Y., beginning in 2022-23. His father Steve was a first round NHL Draft pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1989 and went on to play 16 years of professional hockey.
