The Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) schedule is rolling into November with three days of action. Summerside (12-3-0-0) and South Shore (11-3-0-1) re-entered the CJHL’s Top 20 rankings this week at 14th and 19th respectively, bumping Edmundston (9-4-0-0) from the list for now. The Western Capitals lead the overall standings, having won their last four games. The Eastlink South-leading Lumberjacks are just one point behind and are riding a five game unbeaten streak at 4-0-0-1.

The schedule kicks off a day later than usual with four matchups on Friday. The Bearcats (2-8-0-4) hit the road for New Brunswick this week desperate for a win as they visit Campbellton (7-4-0-1). Truro is coming off a 3-2 loss to Valley (4-11-0-0) in their lone game last week, while the Tigers edged South Shore in a shootout before dropping a road game against Grand Falls (6-7-2-0) on Sunday. Edmundston, meanwhile, head to Nova Scotia and face the Lumberjacks. The Blizzard lost to the Rapids and Western Capitals last week. Fredericton (8-6-0-0) makes the trip to Grand Falls, looking to avenge a 5-3 loss to the Rapids at Grant Harvey Centre last week. Grand Falls have won three straight games overall.

Finally, the Wildcats play in Yarmouth (8-4-2-1). In their lone meeting this far, Valley picked up a 4-1 win in Berwick. The Mariners beat the Crushers (6-6-0-0) 6-2 in their lone game last weekend. Of note in this matchup, Yarmouth’s Matt Barron will be playing his 200th MHL game. He’s tallied 75 goals and 131 assists during 199 regular season games in his career. Justin d’Entremont is the all-time leader in games played in Yarmouth with 210.

Ten teams hit the ice on Saturday for a jam-packed lineup of games. Truro continue their road trip in Miramichi (4-8-3-0). The Timberwolves played three games in three days last week, going 0-2-1-0, including a tough 7-6 overtime loss at home to South Shore. Summerside get their lone game of the week on Saturday as they host the Red Wings. Fredericton dropped their first meeting 7-2 way back at the end of September. South Shore make the trip to Amherst (7-5-1-0) to face the Ramblers. Amherst is coming off a 3-1 win over Valley. Speaking of the Wildcats, they host the Crushers at Kings Mutual Century Centre in the MHL Game of the week, which is free to watch on HockeyTV. This is their first meeting in Berwick, with Pictou County having won the first two games in the head-to-head matchup. The schedule wraps up in Yarmouth as the Mariners take on the Blizzard.

Week 8 comes to an end on Sunday as Campbellton returns to Grand Falls. The Tigers lost the aforementioned game between the two sides last Sunday, as well as a 4-3 overtime decision to the Rapids in late September.

All games are available on HockeyTV.
