The Miramichi Timberwolves have announced that forward Mitchell Wagner has committed to McGill University for next season.
Wagner, from Beaver Bank, N.S., was drafted by the Yarmouth Mariners 60th overall in the 2021 MHL Entry Draft. He played nineteen games for the Mariners in 2021-22, tallying two goals and three assists. In 2022-23, Wagner had two goals and an assist in thirteen games for Yarmouth before being traded in late-November to the South Shore Lumberjacks, where he played just two games.

He finished sixth in team scoring with twelve goals and 23 assists in 51 games and tied for the second-most game-winning goals on the Timberwolves with four. He was named to the Eastlink North team of the Week once that season. In the playoffs, Wagner had five goals and six assists, including the game-winner to clinch the Eastlink North Division title against Edmundston, as Miramichi went on to capture their first-ever league title.
In 2024-25, Wagner had twelve goals and ten assists in 22 games for Miramichi before finishing the season with the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL. He was named to the Eastlink North Team of the Week once during the season.
