The Pictou County Weeks Crushers have announced that 20-year-old defenseman Logan Vande Meerakker has committed to Norwich University in Vermont. The Cadets were the top-ranked NCAA Division III squad this past season.
The Dieppe, N.B. native spent two seasons with the Pictou County Scotians of the Nova Scotia Junior B Hockey League, with 23 goals and 44 assists in 57 games. Joining the Crushers for the 2019-20 season, Vande Meerakker finished third in team scoring with 12 goals and 25 assists in 51 games. His 37 points were the seventh-most in the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL).
The MHL congratulates Vande Meerakker for his Junior A and Junior B career, as well as his post-secondary commitment.
