CJHL announces its 3 Stars of the Month for October – Fuelled by Gatorade
TORONTO – The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced Thursday that goaltender Mathis Lacroix-Goulet (Collège Français de Longueuil/LHJAAAQ) along with forwards Mavrick Brunet (Rockland Nationals/CCHL) and Taeo Artichuk (Trenton Golden Hawks/OJHL) have been named its 3 Stars of the Month – Fuelled by Gatorade, for October.
1st Star: Mathis Lacroix-Goulet, (G) Collège Français de Longueuil (LHJAAAQ) – All but unbeatable in the high-scoring Quebec AAA Junior Hockey League last month, Lacroix-Goulet only allowed 11 pucks to get past him in 417 minutes of game action for the top-ranked team in the entire CJHL.
In all, the 20-year-old netminder from Delson, Que., won each of his appearances for Collège Français in October, going 7-0-0-0 with a crisp 1.58 goals-against average and an equally solid save percentage of .930. He also posted one shutout.
Of those with 10, or more, starts so far this season, Lacroix-Goulet tops all LHJAAAQ goalkeepers in wins (14); average (2.07); save percentage (.913); shutouts (3) and minutes played (900). His overall record on the campaign is 14-1-0-0.

2nd Star: Mavrick Brunet, (F) Rockland Nationals (CCHL) – In 11 October outings, which were all Rockland victories, Brunet amassed 26 points for the Central Canada Hockey League-leading Nationals.
In those matchups, the 19-year-old Laval, Que., product banged in eight tallies, including a game-winner, and aided on 18 more markers for the Nationals.
Highlighted by seven multi-point performances in the time frame, Brunet leads the CCHL in both assists and points with 27 and 39 respectively. His 12 goals share third spot in the league.

3rd Star: Taeo Artichuk, (F) Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL) – Earning back-to-back Ontario Junior Hockey League East Conference Player-of-the-Month laurels, Artichuk continued his torrid scoring pace there.
In October, the 20-year-old from Moncton, N.B., racked up 22 points in nine games overall. That featured 13 goals and seven multi-point efforts, along with a pair of hat tricks, in helping the Golden Hawks go 7-0-0-2 during the period.
Artichuk currently paces the OJHL in point-per-game average at 2.10 as do his five shorthanded markers. He’s also tied for first in goals with 21 and his 44 points has him second in league scoring.
