Crushers’ Pattengale commits to Dalhousie University

The Pictou County Weeks Crushers have announced that Preston Pattengale has committed to Dalhousie University for the upcoming season.

The defenseman from Sydney, N.S. was drafted in the 3rd Round, 48th overall, by the Crushers in the 2021 MHL Entry Draft. Pattengale joined the team leading up to the 2022-23 trade deadline and collected two goals and eight assists in nineteen regular season games, adding one assist in four playoff games. In 2023-24, Pattengale finished eighth in scoring among MHL defensemen with 33 points. He had eight goals and 25 assists in 48 games. During the Metalfab MHL Cup Playoffs, Pattengale registered four assists in six games.

In his final season with the Crushers, Pattengale was sixth in scoring for blueliners with 37 points in 41 games. His twelve goals placed him fourth among defensemen to go with 25 assists. As the Crushers marched to the Metalfab MHL Cup Final, Pattengale had four assists in thirteen games. He was twice named to the Eastlink South Team of the Week.

He was named to the Eastlink South Team of the Week three times and was the Honourable Mention for the MHL’s Top Defenseman in March.
