Week 15 of the MHL schedule has ten games spread over five days as teams try and gain or carry some momentum through the end of the calendar year. The Edmundston Blizzard (18-6-1-3) haven’t lost in regulation in their last nine games, the longest active streak, sporting a 5-0-1-3 record over that time. The Truro Bearcats (10-10-3-4) have the longest streak in the Eastlink South Division, with two wins last weekend sending them on a 3-0-2-0 run. South Shore (17-12-1-1) snapped their long losing streak last week with wins in Fredericton (16-10-2-0) and Grand Falls (10-16-2-1) to get back into the race for first in the division. They currently sit in second, one point behind Yarmouth (17-10-2-1) and one point ahead of Pictou County (17-9-1-0), with Amherst (14-13-1-0) and Truro closing ground as well.

Edmundston will play three games this week, starting Wednesday as they travel to Miramichi (8-18-3-1). The Timberwolves dropped three games in four days last week, including a 5-4 loss to the Blizzard on home ice on Thursday. Edmundston followed up that victory with an 6-1 victory over South Shore and an 8-2 win over Grand Falls.

North and South division teams collide on two fronts on Thursday. First up, Summerside (24-4-0-1) is home against Amherst. The Ramblers dropped a 4-0 decision to the Western Capitals back on September 14th. Summerside dropped to 6th in the CJHL Top 20 national rankings this week due mainly to a 2-0 loss to the Crushers in New Glasgow, but they did bounce back with a with over Miramichi. Amherst was outscored 13-4 in losses to Yarmouth and Fredericton last week. Elsewhere, the Crushers make their first and only trip to Fredericton. Pictou County had a five-game win streak snapped by Valley (8-21-2-0) in the back half of a home and home set last weekend. This will be the sixth home game for the Red Wings in their past seven games, and they’re 3-0-1-0 in their last four.

Friday is the busiest night of the week with four games. The Truro Bearcats and Amherst Ramblers renew pleasantries at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre. This is the MHL Game of the Week, which is free to watch on HockeyTV. It’s also the final game in 2019 for both teams, who open their 2020 schedules with another game in Truro. Sticking with the Eastlink South Divison, Valley hit the road to play Yarmouth. The Mariners have posted shutouts in each of their last two meetings with the Wildcats. The Red Wings are back in action as their travel to Edmundston. The Blizzard have taken three of four games so far, though all but one has been decided by more than two goals. Finally, Miramichi plays in Grand Falls. The teams have split their four games, with the first two being decided in overtime.

On Saturday, Campbellton (13-10-3-0) are on home ice against the Rapids. The Tigers are 1-1-1-1 against Grand Falls this season are coming off two huge wins. They defeated Valley 11-1 on December 6th and posted an 8-4 win over Miramichi last week. South Shore is on the road to face Yarmouth in a pivotal divisional matchup. The Mariners have swept the three meetings this season. This game will be available on Eastlink Community TV, via MC Media, on Channels 10 and 610.

And then on Sunday. Campbellton is on the road against Edmundston. The Blizzard have won the last two games 4-3 and then 6-5 in overtime. Expect this game to be just as close.

All games can be viewed on HockeyTV.
