Dillon Boucher, who played for the Miramichi Timberwolves during the 2017-18 season, made his NHL debut on Wednesday night with the Chicago Blackhawks against the Florida Panthers.

Before playing in the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL), the 29-year-old from Head of Chezzetcook, N.S., played three seasons in the QMJHL with Cape Breton and Charlottetown, collecting seventeen goals and 20 assists in 160 games.

He was originally the second overall pick of the Bridgewater Lumberjacks (now the West Kent Steamers) in the 2014 MHL Entry Draft. He also had a team-high four shorthanded goals, which ranked second in the league, and led the Timberwolves with 96 penalty minutes.

After that season, Boucher recorded sixteen goals and 27 assists in 99 regular season games between 2018 and 2023 with Dalhousie University. In two and a half seasons with the Wichita Thunder of the ECHL, he had fourteen goals and 21 assists in 151 games. In 2025, Boucher signed with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League and had three goals and five assists in 60 games before being called up by Chicago on Tuesday.
