Hockey PEI statement on the passing on Allan Andrews

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – It is with deep sadness that Hockey PEI learns of the passing of Allan Andrews, a revered figure in the hockey community whose contributions have left an indelible mark on the sport in Prince Edward Island and beyond. Allan’s dedication to the development of young players through his innovative coaching programs and his unwavering commitment to excellence has shaped the lives of countless athletes, helping them to reach their full potential both on and off the ice.

As the founder of the Allan Andrews Hockey School, Allan established a legacy of passion, perseverance, and professionalism that has influenced generations of hockey players. His pioneering approach to skill development and his tireless efforts to nurture talent at all levels have earned him widespread respect and admiration across Prince Edward Island and beyond.

Robert MacMillan, President of Hockey PEI, expressed the organization’s deep sorrow: “Allan Andrews was more than a coach; he was a mentor, a visionary, and a pillar of our hockey community. His impact on the sport is immeasurable, and his dedication to the development of young players will continue to inspire future generations. Allan’s passing is a profound loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”
