- Summerside and Campbellton last met in the 2018-19 Eastlink North Final where the Tigers won the series in six games. Campbellton would go on to lose to Yarmouth in the league final. The Western Capitals had won the Semi-Final series between them the previous season.
- Summerside enters the Metalfab MHL Cup Playoffs on a roll, having not lost in regulation in ten games with an 8-0-2-0 record. That includes a 2-1 shootout win in Campbellton on March 3rd.
- The Western Capitals generated 216 points from defensemen this season compared to 179 for Campbellton. The McNeill brothers, Ed and Sid, finished 1st and 4th in scoring for defensemen with a combined 127 points; 79 of which came on the powerplay.
- Summerside was 23-3-1-0 when they scored first in a game, while Campbellton was 22-5-2-0.
- Campbellton had the 8th-best penalty kill percentage in the MHL at 75.5%, but ranked 2nd on home ice at 84.0%.
- Summerside was one of two teams to not score a shorthanded goal this season and the Western Capitals actually gave up the most shorthanded goals with eight.
- Should the games require extra time, the numbers favour Summerside, who were 4-3 in overtime, compared to 1-5 in overtime for Campbellton.
