Notes

    • Moving to the Eastlink South Division this season, Summerside eclipsed the 84 points Yarmouth tallied last season to win the regular season title. It’s the most points in a season for any team since the Western Capitals had 87 in 2019-20. Summerside defeated Campbellton in the first round of the playoffs last season before being swept by Edmundston in the Eastlink North Division Final. Yarmouth became the first MHL team to go 12-0 in the playoffs last season, winning their second league title in five years.
    • Summerside had four players in the top 20 in league scoring with Robbie Rutledge fifth (78 points), Trentyn Crane eighth (74), Blake Eastman 13th (67), and Paul Hughes (60). They also had two of the top-six scoring defensemen with William Irvine leading the way at 56 points and Jacob Squires sixth with 38 points.
    • As noted above in previous matchups, Yarmouth took Summerside to extra time four times, winning three of those games. Only two games were decided by more than two goals. The Mariners were the only team to post four wins against Summerside.
    • Thomas Fontaine finished fifth in the MHL with a 2.91 goals against average and 19 wins, third in minutes played with 1,981, and second in both saves (1,059) and save percentage (.921). Against Summerside, Fontaine had a record of 3-1-0-1 with a 2.29 GAA and .940 SV% in facing over 37 shots per game. In seventeen starts since joining the Western Capitals in December, Drew Sim finished third in the MHL with a 2.68 GAA and just behind Fontaine with a .920 SV%. Against Yarmouth, Sim went 3-1-0-0 with a 2.46 GAA and a .920 SV%.
    • Summerside has three of the highest-scoring rookies this season. Jonah MacDonald is fifth with 38 points, Brennan Murphy is seventh with 35 points, and Ryder Howatt is 14th at 30 points.
