Four players from the Maritime Hockey League (MHL) are at the MasterCard Centre in Etobicoke, Ontario for three days of games and practices as part of the evaluation process for the upcoming World Junior A Challenge in Bonnyville, Alberta.

Amherst Ramblers defenceman Alex Wynter, Miramichi Timberwolves forward Jérémie Hébert, Yarmouth Mariners forward Logan Timmons, and Grand Falls Rapids goaltender Andrew Rose are among the 40 players looking to crack the final roster for Team Canada East. The selection camp began on Sunday and ends Tuesday. The final roster will then practice on Wednesday before leaving for the tournament.

The players were selected from the CJHL’s five eastern Junior A leagues: Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL), Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL), Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL), Ligue de hockey junior AAA du Québec (LHJAAAQ) and MHL. Team Canada East will kick off the tournament against Russia on December 9th at 2 p.m. MT.

Campbellton Tigers Head Coach/GM Greg Leland is also on site as a Guest Coach for the selection camp. Yarmouth Mariners Equipment Manager Bill Marr will serve that role for Team Canada East.
