Pictou County confirm further positive COVID-19 cases, three games postponed

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Truro, N.S. (December 14, 2021) – The Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) has been informed of positive cases of COVID-19 involving the Pictou County Weeks Crushers. This follows a positive rapid test result Friday involving one player. The affected players and staff are isolating, as required. The team continues to work with Public Health while following the MHL’s Return to Play plan. To protect the privacy of our players and team personnel, other details including names will not be released.

As a result, three games are being postponed:

    • Thursday, December 16th – Valley at Pictou County
    • Saturday, December 18th – Pictou County at Amherst
    • Sunday, December 19th – Pictou County at Valley

The MHL will release more information if, and when, it is necessary. The league remains committed to ensuring the safety of players, fans, and team staff through the COVID-19 pandemic and working with provincial health officials and other stakeholders in the weeks and months ahead.
