Summerside, Yarmouth remain in top 15 of CJHL rankings

CALGARY, Alta. – With 25 consecutive victories to their credit, the Brooks Bandits (AJHL) continue to hold down the No. 1 spot in the Canadian Junior Hockey League Top 20 Rankings, with its latest listings announced Monday.

Brooks set a new AJHL record Saturday with win No. 25 in a row while the Canadian National Jr. A Championship-host Bandits moved to 49-3 overall so far in 2018-19.

Despite having a 13-game run of their own snapped by long-time rival Dryden Saturday, the Thunder Bay North Stars (SIJHL) are a solid 34-3-1-1 on the campaign to remain No. 2.

Back up to No. 3 this week is the Oakville Blades (OJHL), as with less than two weeks left in their regular season, they sit with a 35-5-1-4 mark to top the table in that 22-team loop.

Down a notch to No. 4 nationally, the Summerside Western Capitals (MHL) still pace the Maritimes while sporting a 33-6-1-1 record and going 7-1-1-1 in their previous 10 outings.

Holding firm at No. 5, the Portage Terriers (MJHL) hold a comfortable lead atop the standings in Manitoba having gone 40-9-2-1 to date, eight points up on CJHL No. 11 Swan Valley Stampeders.

Among the Honourable Mention teams this week is the Amherst Ramblers (MHL), who will be hosting the 2019 Fred Page Cup Eastern Canadian Championship this May.
