Timberwolves’ Beck commits to Portage College

The Portage College Voyageurs have announced that Miramichi Timberwolves forward Mason Beck has committed to their program for the 2023-24 season.

The 21-year-old from Bridgewater, N.S. was drafted in the 2nd Round, 19th overall, in the 2018 MHL Entry Draft. Beck registered just one game played in each of the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons with Miramichi. In 2020-21, Beck played in twelve games and tallied one goal and two assists. During the Canadian Tire Cup Playoff Round-Robin, he had one goal and one assist in three games. Beck played in 34 of Miramichi’s 35 games in 2021-22 and had eight goals to go with sixteen assists before playing in seven playoff games.

In 2022-23, Beck started the season in Miramichi before being dealt to the South Shore Lumberjacks in late October. He was reacquired by the Timberwolves at the trade deadline. In all, Beck had ten goals and sixteen assists in 28 games with Miramichi last season and one goal and eleven assists in 21 games with South Shore. During the Metalfab MHL Cup Playoffs, Beck scored three goals in six games.
