Timberwolves’ Lafontaine commits to Concordia University

The Miramichi Timberwolves have announced that forward Jacob Lafontaine has committed to Concordia University.

The 21-year-old from Trois-Rivieres, Quebec joined Miramichi for the 2024-25 season after more than three seasons in the QMJHL between the Shawinigan Cataractes and Chicoutimi Saguenéens where he registered seventeen goals and 22 assists in 183 games. He also tallied four goals and one assist in 29 playoff games.

Lafontaine currently sits fourteenth in league scoring with 48 points. His 27 goals are tied for fourth to go with 21 assists. As of February 3rd, Lafontaine has a nine-game point streak, which is tied for the third-longest active streak. He has accumulated eighteen points during this streak.
