The Summerside Western Capitals have announced that defenseman Max Jardine has committed to Acadia University for next season.

The 21-year-old from Miramichi, N.B. began his Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) career with his hometown Timberwolves in 2021-22, registering one goal and seven assists in 35 games. Jardine was also named to the Eastlink North team of the Week once during the season. His role expanded in 2022-23, playing in 51 of 52 regular season games for Miramichi, tallying five goals and 21 assists.

Jardine played in 22 games for Miramichi in 2023-24, with six assists and making the Eastlink North team of the Week once, but joined the QMJHL’s Charlottetown Islanders to finish the season. He would remain with the Islanders until late November of the 2025-26 season when he was acquired by Summerside. Jardine had one goal and twelve assists in 20 games, followed by one goal and two assists in fourteen Metalfab MHL Cup Playoff games. At the Centennial Cup, on home ice, he had two assists in seven games as Summerside lost in the national final to Niverville.

The MHL congratulates Jardine on his post-secondary commitment.
