Western Capitals’ Vos commits to Dalhousie University

The Summerside Western Capitals have announced that forward Reid Vos has committed to Dalhousie University for the 2024-25 season.

The 21-year-old from Charlottetown, P.E.I. was selected in the 5th Round, 78th overall, by the Yarmouth Mariners in the 2019 MHL Entry Draft. In the 2020-21 season, Vos had one goal and two assists in 26 games for Yarmouth. The following season, he notched thirteen goals and sixteen assists in 32 games, adding three assists in six playoff games.

Vos would finish fifth in team scoring in 2022-23 with 49 points for the Mariners as he tallied 22 goals and 27 assists. Vos was a key contributor in the Metalfab MHL Cup Playoffs with five goals and seven assists in twelve games for Yarmouth. Three of his five goals were game-winners, including two in the Final against Edmundston as the Mariners captured the league title.

He was involved in a pair of off-season trades before the 2023-24 season, sending him to West Kent and then Summerside. Vos finished sixth in team scoring for the Western Capitals with 45 points. He had a career-best 26 goals to go with nineteen assists. Vos was tied with four players with six game-winning goals this season, second only to West Kent’s Alexis Daniel.

The MHL congratulates Vos on his post-secondary commitment.
