Wildcats’ Lyonnais commits to UQTR Patriotes

The Valley Wildcats have announced that goaltender Antoine Lyonnais has committed to the UQTR Patriotes for the 2022-23 season.

The 21-year-old from Trois-Rivières, Quebec joined the Edmundston Blizzard during the 2019-20 season, playing 33 games where he posted a 21-6-1-5 record with a 2.90 goals against average and a .903 save percentage. Lyonnais was named to the Rookie All-Star Team after being selected as the Pro Design Cresting Rookie of the Month twice during the season.

In 2020-21, Lyonnais had a 4-1-0-2 record with a 2.80 goals against average and a .913 save percentage. He was named a Player of the Week twice.

Lyonnais was traded to the Valley Wildcats prior to the 2021-22 season. He continued his stellar play in Berwick, helping to lead Valley back to the playoffs with an 11-5-2-1 record and a 2.71 goals against average to go with a .924 save percentage. Lyonnais was selected as a Player of the Week three times and was Honourable Mention for the Top Goaltender in December.
