Wilson commits to Wilfrid Laurier University

The Valley Wildcats have announced that captain Luke Wilson has committed to Wilfrid Laurier University for the 2022-23 season.

The 21-year-old from Bedford, N.S. was selected in the 2nd Round, 15th overall, in the 2019 MHL Entry Draft by the Grand Falls Rapids. Wilson was acquired by Valley at the start of the 2019-20 season. In his first season, Wilson finished third in team scoring with sixteen goals and eleven assists in 30 games as he split time with the QMJHL’s Chicoutimi Saguenéens.

In 2020-21, Wilson finished second on the Wildcats in scoring with thirteen goals and thirteen assists in playing all of Valley’s 32 games during the regular season. During the Canadian Tire Cup Playoff Round Robin, he has two goals and one assist.

So far in 2021-22, Wilson leads Valley with fourteen goals and 20 assists in 28 games. At the end of February, he had the second-most powerplay points in the league with sixteen (five goals and eleven assists).
